As a real estate agent, you may need to change brokers at some point in your career. It could be for a variety of reasons-maybe you’re moving to a new city, or perhaps you’re not happy with the brokerage you’re currently with. Whatever the reason, if you find yourself in this situation, you must write a letter to your broker informing them of your decision.
This is both a courtesy and professional and will help you avoid any legal issues down the road. Plus, it will give you a chance to say goodbye and thank the broker for their help during your time with them.
Here’s a template for a letter informing your broker of your decision to leave. Be sure to customize it with your information and details about why you’re going.
